You can choose cheap rugs to fit into any room in your house

You can choose cheap rugs to fit into any room in your house

Rugs are the new way to add interest to your house or flat. They are a versatile addition to a room and add interest to any design scheme. Cheap rugs are a quick and economical way to update your colour scheme or add a new look to your room. They can be used in any room in your house, whether it is your living room, kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.

Your choice of rug will depend on where you intend to place your rug. Some areas of your home will need a more hardworking and robust rug, especially if there are going to be a lot of people regularly walking on it. Living areas, hallways and kitchens will get more wear and tear than a bathroom or a bedroom. When buying cheap rugs you will expect your purchase to last you for many years, so you should check on how tough your rugs will be. Many cheap rugs are made from polypropylene which is a hard wearing synthetic material which also has the advantage of being comparatively easy to clean, which is a major consideration if the rugs are to be used in an area such as a hallway or kitchen.

The next thing to look at is size. Cheap rugs come in a wide variety of sizes, and your first task should be to measure the area you need to cover with your rug. Remember to leave some space around the edges. Think carefully about the section you wish to cover and buy your rug to fit. As these rugs are available in such a wide variety of sizes, this gives you a great deal of flexibility so take a good look at your room and the rest of your furnishings. Cheap rugs should complement a room but not overpower the rest of your decor. A small room can be dominated by an over large rug, but if you have a large room a substantial rug will look better.

Unless you are planning your interior design from the beginning, your rug will need to fit in with your existing decor. Fortunately cheap rugs are also available in a wide variety of colour schemes. Firstly look at your wall coverings. If your walls are covered in bright patterns then your rug should pick up the colour but a plain rug will fit in best as too many differing patterns will clash. Floor coverings should also be a consideration. If your rug is going to be placed onto a wooden floor or a laminate floor then almost any colour will look great. However be careful if placing your rug on top of an existing carpet as the colours and patterns should not conflict. However a patterned rug on top of a plain fitted carpet can really lift the design of a room. Black and white rug designs on top of a plain carpet can give a really contemporary feel to an otherwise plain room.

Cheerful cheap rugs brighten up the cold winter’s nights

Cheerful cheap rugs brighten up the cold winter’s nights

It’s cold outside and the weather is miserable, but there is no need to let the winter get you down. This is the time for friends and family, so invite them round for a mince pie and some festive cheer. You can also ask the neighbours in from the cold. If you feel that your home needs brightening up, before you have people round, you need look no further than cheap rugs to give your living room a lift before you have company. I prefer my cheap rugs to be brightly patterned. They really give my living room a boost. You can choose from abstract patterns in big bold colours which are ideal for a contemporary living area, or from nature inspired flowers which though they are imposing still give a more traditional look to your rug. Either of these current styles of design gives your main room a lift and makes for a stunning focal point. The real advantage of these rugs is their price, because two or more are easily affordable for the family budget, even if you have to watch the pennies. You can mix and match, or even store one away so that you can ring the changes if you get tired of a particular design. Cheap rugs can be rolled up carefully and will still be perfect when you unroll them onto your floor. This gives you unmatchable value for money when you can alternate your existing cheap rugs to give an instant new look. Try alternating rugs of different textures but similar colours, or the same pattern but in a different colour. With the prices of new cheap rugs starting from as little as £7 this is easily affordable and will give you a boost knowing you can brighten up your house at the drop of a hat. Choose vibrant colours to liven things up during the drab winter days. Purple is a fantastic colour for your cheap rugs and either plain or patterned works well. Another colour which adds warmth is the ever popular red, and there are different shades of this around at the moment, from vibrant poppy to deep scarlet. Imagine the warm feeling as you usher your guests into your living room and they are greeted by your exciting new cheap rugs gleaming by the fireside or underneath their feet as they sit on the sofa. I like the retro rugs which are available in red as they have lovely designs which aren’t too overpowering. With red, the colour says it all. Any room in the house can be given a quick and easy makeover with cheap rugs. You can use these cheap rugs to enhance your bathroom. Blue is a popular colour for bathrooms at the moment and again I can recommend a retro design. In a small bathroom one of these cheap rugs by the bath will improve the whole look, making even the simplest bathroom look more luxurious. Cheap rugs are a really quick and easy way to brighten up your home this winter.

Knowing In Cleaning Wool Rugs

Rugs is best the investment of home owners in decorating their home. To maintain the beauty of your idea rugs you need to take a proper care to last for lifetime. Knowing how to clean wool rugs is one important lesson for wool are rugs owners to master. We all know wool rugs are not cheap as they are the best quality carpets money can buy. To prolong the life of wool area rugs, it is best to undertake some cleaning and maintenance on part. This will give you an idea in cleaning  wool rugs.

It is been the part of our cleaning routine the vacuuming of our rugs at least once a week. This is not difficult to achieve and we should take some time to do this cleaning. It is a common mistake for rug owners to ignore their wool rugs until it is too late.  Once your wool area rug becomes old and dirty looking, it will be too late to do anything about it. So, while it is still new, please vacuum and clean the rugs often to maintain their look.

We can clean our rugs with our own but it is advisable to hire a professional rug cleaner at least once a year to treat your rugs professionally. You might think that this is not necessary but the small fees you incurred more than offset by the savings of not needing to buy wool are rug. When hiring a professional cleaner, ensure that they used a low moisture solution to treat your wool rugs. Not every cleaner is experienced in treating different materials of rugs so it is better that you at least know what to look for. To ensure in cleaning your rugs try to find a cleaner with experience in cleaning wool rugs. You can ask your friends or look online for rug cleaners with experiences.

When spillage occurs onto your wool area rugs, this will be then getting a bit tricky. Fortunately, wool area rugs, by the nature of their fibers, are stain resistant. Their fibers have natural oils that can repel stains efficiently. However, you still need to do quick cleaning when spillage occurs to avoid permanent stains.

When a spillage occurs, immediately use a dry tissue to remove as much of the liquid as possible. Ensure that you do not rub the spillage into the wool area rugs. Rather, you should use a circular motion that gently picks up the liquid. Most people tend to rub too hard, which has more adverse effects as the spillage becomes entrenched into the rug material itself.

Once that is done, you should proceed to the following step. If the stain is oil based, use a wet tissue and gently rub the stain away. If the stain is non oil based, you can use a normal liquid detergent and repeat the same circular motion to remove stain. If the spillage isn’t too serious, these methods should be able to work. However, if it is a serious stain, I suggest you buy the carpet cleaning kit as soon as you can or send in to a professional carpet cleaner for help to clean wool rugs.

Cheap Rugs for your kitchen

Cheap Rugs

Cheap Rugs for your kitchen

Cheap rugs are not the first thing you think of when looking at floor covering for your kitchen, but they are a surprisingly useful addition. Many years ago my grandmother had an old rag rug in her kitchen. This was really useful as the kitchen floor was made of stone and the whole kitchen was really cold. The rug helped to warm it up and as a child learning to cook in Grandma’s kitchen I was very grateful for it. One disadvantage was that being in the kitchen many feet walked all over it, and because of its design it held the dirt and became really grubby, so about every year a new one had to be made, as these old fashioned rugs didn’t wash well. They were cheap because they were hand made by my grandmother. Times have changed, and cheap rugs are available which can be easily cleaned and can still produce that old fashioned warm look in your kitchen.

Cheap rugs come in many designs, and you can still get shaggy rugs which emulate that old fashioned rag rug design so popular many years ago, with the advantage that they are easy to clean. Stone floors became unfashionable and were replaced by linoleum, which had a slightly warmer feel. Today’s modern kitchens have a range of flooring, ranging from laminate to quarry tiles and stone. Nostalgia is a popular look and cheap rugs can really give that feel of a traditional kitchen. I like rugs with a classic pattern, which tone in with the colour on my walls, and at the moment have two matching rugs, one large cheap rug on which my pine kitchen table stands, and the other by the door. To capture the feel of the rag rugs popular in Grandma’s day, I have used chenille rugs to give a similar texture.

I love the nostalgic look myself but I realise that it is not everyone’s choice. To update the look slightly and give your kitchen a contemporary feel, choose cheap rugs which have an abstract design. There are some bold designs in bright colours which tone in well with the minimalist look of a stainless steel kitchen and giving a splash of colour. Swirls and squares also look good in an otherwise plain kitchen.

Don’t worry about cleaning your cheap rugs in the kitchen. With modern materials they are hard working and clean up well. I cook every day in my kitchen and find that usually vacuuming my cheap rugs is enough. One little tip – vacuum both sides of your cheap rug to prevent dirt from getting deep into the rug. This will keep them looking better for longer. If there are any spills, as can easily happen in a kitchen, I wipe them up quickly and there is usually no problem. Once every six months I wash my cheap rugs, using ordinary soap and water and drying them slowly. This means my cheap rugs look as good as new afterwards, and last for many years, only needing replacing when I want to change my colour scheme.

Natural or Synthetic Modern Rugs?

Natural or Synthetic Modern Rugs?

When you are looking for modern rugs for your home, you are faced with numerous decisions that need to be made. Are you going to go for a large one that can help to fill a room or a smaller one to fit into a certain area? Do you go for something that has a bright and bold pattern on it or something that has a plain and understated look? As well as the aesthetic variations that are available to buy, you will also be able to choose between different materials. A rug can be manufactured out of a number of fibres so is it a natural one that you want, one that is made of man made material or maybe one made with a blend of the two. We have given you some basic information regarding the three types below and hope this will assist you in your decision making.

Natural Fibres – If you would prefer something that is made from completely natural materials then there is still a number of choices that you will have available. You can choose from a rug that is made from sisal, coir, wool, seagrass or jute. Each variety will have different looks and textures and the type that you decide to go for will ultimately depend on your own personal style preference. A rug made from natural fibres can last for long periods of time if looked after properly and they will also generally have a better quality than those made from a synthetic material. The main disadvantage of these types is the fact that they can cost more than those made from other materials.

Synthetic Fibres – A man made rug will usually be manufactured using viscose, nylon, acrylic or polypropylene. You will find that you can get these varieties in almost any colour and pattern that you could possibly want. The synthetic materials make them fairly stain resistant as well and they can be a lot cheaper than something made from 100% natural fibres. Clearly the biggest negative regarding these is the fact that they will more often than not be of a lesser quality than a natural rug. This can mean that they will retain their original quality for a shorter period of time and are not as durable.

Natural Blend – These are made with a mixture of synthetic and natural materials but usually using wool. Purchasing one of these can get some of the best points from both fibres, with the cost generally being lower than those made from 100% natural and the quality being higher than a synthetic variety.

If you are unsure about your choices when looking for modern rugs you should talk to a professional who will be more than happy to assist you in your decision making.
